This year promises to be especially memorable as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Techniques Trophy. While 2026 marks the 21st running of the TT, it is 20 years since that first unforgettable race in 2006. What began as a single event has grown into a tradition, creating countless memories, friendships and stories along the way.
We hope you’ll join us as we celebrate two decades of the Techniques Trophy and look back on an incredible journey together. It promises to be a truly special occasion.
Information for competitors
We are also pleased to confirm that the Techniques Trophy and Techniques Cup format introduced last year will continue for 2026. The changes were warmly received and helped make the day simpler and more enjoyable for competitors — so we are delighted to continue with the same approach this year.
For those already beginning to think about tyres, preparation, and a little garage fettling, the format remains:
- The Techniques Trophy will be awarded to the leading push-rod-engined car running on historic tyres, staying true to the spirit of the original TT.
- The Techniques Cup will be awarded to the leading four-cylinder Morgan not eligible for the Techniques Trophy. This means all four-cylinder Morgans — including twin-cam cars — can compete for the Cup without needing historic tyres, helping avoid unnecessary expense and reducing the need for wheel changes between sessions.

Over the years, the TT has grown into something rather special: fantastic Morgans, close racing, great camaraderie, and a wonderfully varied grid that continues to bring together competitors old and new. Whether you are a TT regular, returning after a few years away, or considering joining us for the first time, this year feels like a particularly good one to be part of.
With the anniversary celebrations, a fantastic day’s racing, and the usual TT atmosphere to look forward to, we are hoping for a wonderful gathering of Morgans and familiar faces at Silverstone.
