2023 Techniques Trophy and Cup

2023 Techniques Trophy and Cup

Despite the weather we had another fun and enjoyable day's racing at the Bentley Drivers Club meeting at Silverstone. A solid grid of 4-cylinder Morgans lined up for our annual Techniques Trophy and Cup race. There were some fine drives from many of the drivers throughout the grid, all challenging each other to become top dog out there.

After much action at the front of the race, the Techniques Trophy was presented to the ever present James Sumner and the runner up trophy to the very talented Jim Mountain in his 4/4.

This year the winner of the Techniques Cup for the first push rod engined Morgan was Tom Andrew, who drove superbly and Peter Cole was a very worthy runner up, driving his historic 'Cupie Doll' Morgan +4.
John Emberson, just pipping one of our own (Brian), drove very neatly to pick up the driver of the day award.

There were other notable drives in the race and in particular from Billy Bellinger in his superb Series 5 Morgan 4/4. A spin at Woodcote corner and a crowd pleasing recovery ensured his status as the Techniques Trophy crowd pleaser!

Thank you to everyone who entered our race, keeping this event firmly on the map and to everyone who joined us for the racing, the presentation and the celebration afterwards despite the changeable weather conditions.
