The Morgan Aero SuperSports was unveiled, to much international acclaim, at the Villa D’Esta Concoso d’Eleganza, Italy on April 29th 2009. Charles Morgan described it as “a luxurious, flamboyant sports car which also remains true to Morgan’s philosophy of light weight minimalist simplicity”. Launched to coincide with Morgan’s centenary year, the Aero SuperSports shares its platform with the race winning Morgan Aero SuperSports GT3 racer that humbled the Porsches and Ferraris at its Silverstone debut. Designed in house by Matthew Humphries, the SuperSports is handcrafted at the Morgan factory. It has an aluminium tub and ash framed body finished off with sumptuous leather interior. It is the first Morgan to be designed with a lift off ‘targa’ style roof, which can be stored, when not in use, in the boot. It is also the first Morgan to be offered with automatic transmission as standard, although a manual gearbox remains an option. In tests, an automatic version was found to be marginally quicker than a manual version in a 0-62mph dash. The Morgan Aero SuperSports is a GT car in the grand tradition – together with its stunning performance, comfort and safety are well catered for with standard fittings of air conditioning, cruise control, a heated screen, twin airbags and xenon headlamps. Exterior colours and trim levels can be tailored to your preference.
