Morgan +4

The Morgan +4 was produced in response to the need by Morgan to replace the then obsolete Morgan 4/4. The first +4s were ‘flat radiator’ cars with individual headlights mounted on a cross bar. By 1954, supplies of the headlights were no longer available and the lights receded into the wings – a look that has remained to this day.

All of the pre 1968 +4s used a variant of the Vanguard/Triumph 4 cylinder engine, many owners upgrading their cars to later Triumph specs.

When supplies of Triumph engines dried up, the +4 was dropped from the range for nearly 20 years.

A limited run of cars built with Fiat Twin Cam engines were then superceded by Rover- engined cars before again supplies stopped production.

The 2005 +4 is now built on the same chassis as the Morgan Roadster and shares many components.

Morgan +4s were built as two and four seaters and, prior to 1968, a coupe version was available as well.
